The brief was to design a suit for our big night of the reception. BUT, it also had to be built to withstand the sweaty dance party that would take place. Shao took the time to listen to my vision and meticulously crafted every detail to ensure the suit would not only meet but exceed expectations.The suit itself was a work of art, incorporating a unique pattern that paid homage to my Mexican American heritage. The attention to detail was exceptional—from the custom silver buttons to the stunning oversized white rose brooch, which beautifully represented the white rose of Yorkshire symbolizing my wife’s background. This is an amazing place!! When I first walked the vibe it gave me was cozy professional. I was greeted at the door and later as I came back for fittings greeted at the elevator. Working with shao and all the staff members really made me felt confident and excited in the final results of the suit. Shao was really professional as well as artistic. When we had our 2nd meeting with her going over the design she was realistic but helped us in vision how the suit would look like in the end. I never would have imagined that when we walked in we would be given a blank canvas with which we could create whatever came to our mind. The options in suit color, pattern, designs, beading, and cut really makes this a custom suit a one of one. The freedom of creativity and whatever you in vision really makes this place unique. We will be back for more pieces in the future!!

My wife and I first got in touch with The Tailory for a very specific request, which was to see if it was possible to include a qi pao (a traditional Chinese dress) in a suit. To our delight, the answer was yes! We worked with them to create this suit for our wedding, and the process was so smooth and easy! The staff was friendly, communicative, and incredibly helpful in narrowing down all of the options to choose from (there's a lot). When I wasn't quite sure what I wanted, they were patient and asked questions to help me figure out my vision.In the process of creating my suit, my wife needed to have alterations done to their dress, and The Tailory offered to take that on as well! The attention and time they gave us for both the dress and suit is something to behold. My wife and I are so grateful to have chosen to work with them. We absolutely love the finished products, and the both of us received endless compliments for our outfits on our wedding day. We highly recommend them! Top notch quality and service.

The Tailory was the most delightful experience about my entire wedding planning! These ladies are all professionals making me feel completely at ease with what I was going to receive! I was in search of the prefect jumpsuit and they delivered the wedding jumpsuit of my dreams!! I searched every single website out there for jumpsuits and all I wanted was something elegant and simple. I was surprised nothing out there existed! I tried buying high end designer jumpsuits from department stores, for double the price of my custom jumpsuit, but nothing fit me. They were made to fit tall slender women and the proportions did not work for me. This custom jumpsuit they created for me fit like a glove and I was able to dance like a crazy person at my wedding with no issues! They also worked seamlessly with my mom who wanted to make my cape veil for me and they were so easy to collaborate with! I cannot rave enough about their work, this place is amazing 10 stars if could give them more!!!!

They gave me an awesome, custom fitted suit in green to use for a special event in rush order. The suit fits great and will be great to use all year long. I will definitely come back to them in the future because their color and fabric selection is better than any other place I looked for in the city. I had never had a custom garment made for me before, but I will certainly have another suit made by The Tailory NYC in the future. When my wife and I found this woman owned business on Instagram, we hoped it would be an affirming experience to work with them for the suit I would where on our wedding day, and it certainly was! Silke took the time to understand what we wanted and who we were in our first consultation and gave us so many great options for materials to make my suit perfect for me. The Tailory helped me design the long JACKET & CAPE of my dreams for my wedding! I never liked wearing dresses, and when I fell upon this company, looking for a femme/masculine/edgy style, I knew I had to pursue them to help me create the look I desired, from the custom jumpsuit and long jacket WITH SPIKES and bling! My wife was obsessed with it upon our first look and my outfit was the TALK of the night and MOST anticipated from our guests! Everyone LOVED my look and it truly reflected me and my style! Highly recommended!!!

I can't speak highly enough about my entire experience working with the Tailory. I wanted to get a custom suit for my wedding and really wanted to go somewhere that valued androgyny and the queer community. I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew I wanted something unique and sharp and the Tailory seemed to really stand out.In my consultation, led by the manager Silke (who is absolutely amazing), I gained a new appreciation for the true artistry that goes into making a custom suit. Silke took me through every detail and helped me make fashionable choices as I put the pieces together. I was grateful to have Silke's guidance because I can be kind of square and she pushed me to think bigger about my big day.After we put together the suit, the rest of the process was seamless. I had a few fittings where the Tailor really took care to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. The attention to detail, active listening and collaboration was really special.In the end I came away with a suit better than I had ever imagined. It was everything I wanted and (don't tell my wife) it really stole the show. I got so many compliments and more importantly I felt confident in how I looked. I spent the night dancing and having a blast and it held up strong. The best part is, I can definitely wear it again. The worst part is, now I can't stop thinking about what my next suit will be - its a dangerous habit to pick up! But I'm totally obsessed and would absolutely recommend the Tailory for any special occasion - or just a nice new suit! In fact, I already sent a friend who got their wedding suit there and she is another very happy customer.
